Toxic Poison Diphacinone Under Moratorium 2024

Updated: Feb 26

We start 2024 out in a positive direction.

AB 1322, The California Ecosystems Protection Act aims to place greater restrictions on some of the most dangerous rodenticides, which cause widespread poisoning of wildlife.

Save Joshua Tree Wildlife is a supporter of this bill. AB 1322 was amended by Governor Newsom on October 13, 2023 adding the dangerous poison, diphacinone to the list of second - generation banned poisons. As of January 1, 2024 diphacinone is under moratorium.

If you see diphacinone labeled on any bait box or sold over the counter, please report the violation to your County Agricultural Commissioner. Take a photo to document it. If you see a box without a label, this is also a violation. The violations can also be reported to the California Department for Pesticide Regulation.

Thank you for your supporting the wildlife and their families.
